Is Sandy River Lodge family-friendly?

Yes. The cabin was designed with families in mind. The bunk room is a favorite for kids, and every bedroom has its own private bathroom, which makes mornings much easier. The layout works well for multi-generational trips or two families traveling together.

How many guests can stay?

The maximum occupancy is 8 guests. Only registered guests listed on the reservation are permitted on the property.

Is there a security deposit?

Yes. A $2,000 authorization hold is placed on the credit card 1–2 days prior to check-in. This is not a charge. The hold is automatically released after checkout if no damage or rule violations are identified.

Do you allow parties or events?

No. Sandy River Lodge is located in a quiet residential neighborhood. Parties, events, and large gatherings are not permitted.

What are the quiet hours?

Quiet hours are from 9:00 PM to 8:00 AM. We ask guests to be respectful of neighbors, especially when using outdoor spaces at night.

How far is the cabin from skiing?

• Approximately 20 minutes to Mt. Hood Skibowl

• About 30 minutes to Timberline Lodge and Mt. Hood Meadows

It’s an easy drive without staying in a crowded resort village.

Is the hot tub available year-round?

Yes. The hot tub is open and maintained year-round. It features multiple jet seats and a full-body lounger.

Is the sauna available year-round?

Yes. The Finnish cedar sauna is available for guest use throughout the year.

Is the river safe for swimming?

The Sandy River is beautiful but can have strong currents and changing water levels depending on the season. Children must always be supervised. Use of the river is at your own risk.

Is there direct river access?

Yes. A short path leads from the property through the trees down to the riverbank.

Is there air conditioning?

The cabin does not have central air conditioning. The mountain climate stays cooler than Portland, and the home is equipped with fans and windows for airflow

Is there WiFi?

Yes. High-speed WiFi is available throughout the cabin.

Is there a TV?

Yes. The living room includes a Smart TV so you can log into your streaming services.

Is the kitchen fully stocked?

Yes. The kitchen is equipped for real cooking, including cookware, dishes, utensils, and basic pantry items for simple meals.

Is parking available?

Yes. On-site parking is available for guests and the driveway can easily fit 3-4 vehicles. 

Are pets allowed?

For the safety and comfort of all guests, we do not allow pets at this time.

What time is check-in and check-out?

Check-in: 4:00 PM

Check-out: 11:00 AM

Early check-in or late checkout may be available depending on availability.

Do you offer early check-in or late checkout?

We do our best to accommodate requests when possible, but they cannot be guaranteed during peak season.

What is your cancellation policy?

• Full refund if canceled 30+ days before arrival

• 50% refund if canceled 14–29 days before arrival

• No refund within 14 days. Processing fees may be excluded.

Do you offer discounts?

We occasionally offer returning guest or seasonal promotions. Please reach out if you’ve stayed with us before.

Is this a good cabin for remote work?

Yes. The cabin has reliable high-speed WiFi and quiet surroundings, making it comfortable for remote work during your stay.

Are there exterior cameras?

Yes. Exterior security cameras may be in use for property safety and monitoring. There are no cameras inside the home or near the backyard relaxation areas. 


Is snow removal handled in winter?

Yes. The driveway is maintained, but during heavy snowfall, guests may need appropriate vehicles and winter tires or chains as required by Oregon law.

What happens if there's a power outage?

The cabin is equipped with a whole home power backup system which will automatically turn on during power outages. With adjusted use, we expect two to three days of backup power during outages. Few appliances and amenities like Sauna will not work during an outage - more details in the house manual.

How close are restaurants and groceries?

Small local markets and dining options are available within a short drive (1.5 miles). Larger grocery stores are located in Sandy, approximately 25–30 minutes away. We recommend shopping before arrival.
